Dan Swartwood
Business Processes and Information Technology

Dan Swartwood joined the Satellite Logistics Group team in 2008.  He is responsible for leading the design and improvement of supply chain processes for SLG and its customers.  He is also the executive leader of the Information Technology team – bridging the gap between business needs and the technology to support those needs.  

Mr. Swartwood is a certified SCOR instructor with the Supply Chain Council, certified CPIM thru APICS, a certified Quality Engineer thru ASQ. He is also experienced in Lean and Master Black Belt level activities and is highly sought for teaching seminars on the convergence of Six Sigma, LEAN and SCOR. 

Prior to joining Satellite Logistics Group, Mr. Swartwood worked as the Director of Value Chain Center of Excellence for PRAGMATEK Consulting Group. In this role, he assisted clients in industries such as Aerospace and Defense, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Industrial, Automotive, Chemical, and High-tech to analyze their supply chains and identify competitive performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

Prior to this, he held a wide range of management positions for 3M Company and Imation Enterprises. It was during this time that Six Sigma and Lean skills were developed and tested.

Mr. Swartwood has served in several roles within the Supply Chain Council including Board of Directors, Chairman of the Technical Development Steering Committee, and various other committees.

He frequently writes, speaks and teaches on topics in business and business improvement.  He has written several articles, published in numerous business periodicals.  In 2009, he co-authored the book, Fix Your Supply Chain: How to Create a Sustainable Lean Improvement Roadmap.
