KegID® asset-tracking technology allows brewers to scan each keg (or pallet) using a barcode scanner or smartphone, so they know where each keg is, what’s in it and how long it has been gone. This real-time visibility helps them to maximize keg use, improve accountability and minimize keg loss.

The annual Pros to Know awards acknowledge supply chain executives who have exhibited their ability to help clients, companies or the supply chain community to SLG-Swartwood-72dpiprepare for significant challenges in the upcoming year.
Swartwood is not only an author and certified Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) instructor, but he also specializes in assisting companies improve their supply chain processes and performance. Through a SCOR with Lean and Six Sigma concept that he himself helped pioneer, Swartwood helps customers increase efficiency, eliminate waste, reduce cost and improve service levels.

Satellite Logistics Group Selected for 2014 Green Supply Chain AwardSupply & Demand Chain Executive magazine has awarded SLG with the 2014 Green Supply Chain Award, acknowledging the company’s sustainability efforts.

Satellite Logistics Group was recognized on behalf of the supply chain solutions provided to SLG clients that comply with their sustainability goals. Selected from nearly 200 nominees, SLG stood out with their ability to maximize brewers’ usage of stainless steel kegs. These kegs are 100% recyclable and have an average lifespan of 30 years, making them an environmentally favorable choice. These facts paired with SLG’s Kegspediter® keg management solution and eco-friendly EcoBev® disposal service make for a highly sustainable beverage supply chain solution.

SLG Recognized for Supply Chain ExcellenceSLG has been recognized by the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 (SDCE100), an annual industry listing of 100 Great Supply Chain Projects. This award recognizes supply chain solution and service providers that are helping their customers achieve supply chain excellence, producing measurable gains in ROI through cost-cutting and increased efficiency.

The SDCE100 recognizes SLG’s keg management solution for Constellation Brands Mexican import beer, Modelo. SLG’s Kegspediter® reverse logistics service helps the rapidly growing brewer to manage keg returns across the Mexican border and get kegs back in the production pipeline faster. SLG leverages its proprietary software and nationwide supply chain network to transport kegs to one of its ten consolidation centers. As a result, SLG can collect kegs more frequently and cost effectively, helping the brewer to optimize asset usage, reduce keg loss and meet market demands.

Pros to KnowSLG president Kevin Brady has been named one of Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine’s 2014 Pros to Know. This award recognizes select supply chain executives who are leading initiatives to help prepare their companies’ supply chains for the significant challenges of today’s business climate.

Kevin BradyBrady saw brewers struggling to get empty kegs returned to be refilled – a significant problem since kegs average $120 to $140 each and there are an estimated 10 million beer kegs in circulation today. To address the challenge, he developed Kegspediter®, an innovative reverse logistics service which helps brewers optimize asset usage, reduce shrinkage and meet market needs. Today, SLG serves rapidly growing craft brewers such as Sierra Nevada and Lagunitas Brewing Company as well as market leaders such as Heineken and Constellation Brands, Beer Division.

In addition to the Kegspediter® service, Brady also established SLG’s LogiTrax® supply chain management services, which increase efficiency and ensure optimal freight management, and the company’s EcoBev® material recovery service, the only turnkey nationwide green solution for beverage disposal. When combined, SLG’s suite of services help customers optimize their supply chain, improve control of products and assets, and provide significant overall cost savings.

Satellite Logistics Group Presented with Environmentally Friendly Business Award by the EPA

Blue Skyways CollaborativeSLG was honored for its green initiatives by the EPA, who awarded the company the Blue Skyways Collaborative Partnership Award at the second annual Logistics Industry Networking Knowledge Sharing (LINKS) event.

The Blue Skyways Collaborative is a public-private partnership with the EPA aimed at reducing air pollution in the North American corridor. The program encourages projects in diesel technology innovation, alternative fuels production and use and the practice of creating renewable energy and using energy more efficiently. The collaborative assists companies in tracking and measuring their environmental progress and also provides access to financial and grant resource opportunities and a network of organizations whose goal is to reduce emissions.
The award presented to Satellite Logistics Group comes after the company was accepted into the EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partner program, which promotes partnerships with the freight sector to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emission, and improve energy security.

Satellite Logistics Group wins American Marketing Association Houston Crystal Award

May, 2007

Satellite Logistics Group earned top honors at the American Marketing Association’s 21st Annual Crystal Awards Banquet in the “Magazine Advertising Campaign” category. The winning project was a four-part print advertising campaign with the common theme of “Partner with a Proven Winner.”

Over 400 entries were submitted in various categories for the 2007 Crystal Awards. Entries came from a broad range of industries, both for-profit and non-profit. A panel of marketing professionals from AMA chapters throughout the U.S. selected the finalists and winners.

The criteria for judging included the quality of the work itself and a blueprint of the project which outlined the project challenges, objectives, strategy / tactics and measurable results. Entries were only accepted for work that was done during the calendar year 2006.

Satellite Logistics Group Selected as Second Runner Up of Cisco’s Growing with Technology Awards 2006

Satellite Logistics Group of companies was named second runner up in the customer responsiveness category of the Cisco Growing with Technology Awards 2006. The winners of the program serve as role models and best practices for other businesses that want to use technology to fuel growth and compete more effectively. A panel of 10 judges selected a total of 15 winners in five categories from more than 400 applications.

The use of technology has enabled Satellite Logistics Group to increase efficiency, improve employee productivity, and provide cutting-edge supply chain solutions for the beverage industry. Satellite Logistics’ application of network technology and the Internet allowed the company to develop a number of offerings including the one of the first online visibility tools in the market, which provides clients with an advanced web-based application for securely viewing their supply chains at any given channel from any computer with Internet access.

The Cisco Growing with Technology Awards was created to recognize small and medium-sized organizations that demonstrate how networking technology solutions an effectively address business challenges.

Heineken USA Selects Satellite Logistics Group for inaugural Supply Chain Leadership Award

Satellite Logistics Group of companies is the first company to receive Heineken USA’s (HUSA) inaugural Supply Chain Leadership Award.

The award, which was given to Satellite Logistics Group in recognition of its on-going commitment and leadership role in HUSA’s expansion of the supply chain process, was presented in Houston by HUSA Chief Financial and Operating Officer Dan Sullivan.  According to Sullivan, Satellite Logistics Group differentiated itself from other partners because of its high level of service, commitment and supply chain expertise, complementing HUSA’s existing in-house capabilities.

HUSA developed the award to recognize key vendors that it considers trusted partners and contributors to the company’s success. Sullivan noted that HUSA’s Management Team places great emphasis on developing strong partnerships with key vendors.

Satellite Logistics Group wins Transportation Marketing and Communications Association Compass Award of Merit

The Transportation Marketing and Communications Association (TMCA) recognized Satellite Logistics Group with the prestigious Compass Award of Merit for the outstanding composition of its corporate video. Over 200 entries were submitted for review in various categories.  Award recipients were honored at the TMCA Annual Conference in Keystone, Colorado.

The TMCA Compass Awards are designed to set the standard for excellence in the fields of marketing and communication. Past winners include; the Chicago Transit Authority, Amtrak, CSX, UPS, FedEx Freight and Freightliner, LLC.

Kevin Brady Named Entrepreneur of the Year

Brady, Owner and President of the Satellite Logistics Group companies, was named 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year in the Realizing Potential category for the Texas Gulf Coast Region. The regional awards ceremony was held in late June.  A panel of independent judges who are peers in the business community, selected Brady for his visionary leadership and innovative business approach.

Brady qualified for the award at the national level.  Finalists and winners were announced in November 2004 at the National Awards Conference held in Palm Spring, CA.

The Entrepreneur of the Year award, sponsored at each level by Ernst & Young, is considered to be the most prestigious recognition for business leaders.  The program spans 140 cities in the US and over 35 countries world-wide.
